Constructive Speech: Why the US Federal Government Should Decriminalize All Presently Illicit Drugs

This speech was one part of a mock debate for this class. Due to being a class that was taken over a short sequence summer term and online, the mock debate format was altered from a normal debate format to be done online. Prior to the writing of this speech I had to collect an evidence packet and annotated bibliography of research that produced evidence and information for either side of the topic of US federal drug decriminalization. I then used that evidence packet for the writing of two speeches. The first was this constructive speech, which for the purpose of the class and online debate format was read and recorded. I then wrote and recorded an affirmative speech in response to an assigned classmates constructive speech. I have provided the text of the constructive speech I presented and recorded in the portfolio as a showcase of augmentation skills and research based writing. The context of the speech being written to be read and recorded is reflected in the lack of formatting of the content, as well as the opening and closing.
